What to Expect at FBC

First Baptist is a caring and warm congregation that welcomes everyone to attend our worship service. We want you to discover the joy and peace that we share when we come together to worship. If you are planning to visit on a Sunday morning, here are some hints to help you find your way around and know what to expect.

Getting Here

First Baptist is located right on 4212 East Main Street (or Ridge Road) in the center of town. Parking is in the back of the church and feel free to use the rear entrance. Once inside continue down the hallway into the Fellowship Hall. The stairs leading up to the sanctuary are found in the Northwest corner of the room. We also have an elevator for those that need it.

Worship

Our morning worship begins at 10:00 in the sanctuary. Our members will be happy to help guide you there if you get lost. As you enter the sanctuary, you will receive a bulletin with the order of worship and the announcements of the week. The service begins with a piano prelude when you can prepare your heart for worship. Near the beginning of the service, you will be welcomed by our minister, but not singled out in any way. Please give us the opportunity to know you better by filling out a visitor’s card.

During the service, you can find the hymns that we sing in the hymnal in the pew rack. The hymn numbers are printed in the bulletin.

After Worship

After the service, Pastor Fran will be in the back of the church and would love to greet you personally. Also between worship and Sunday School, a fellowship time with drinks and refreshments is held in the Fellowship Hall. Feel free to stay around and get to know some of our members.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School program for adults through pre-K starts at 11:20. If you would like to join us, just ask and someone will help you find what room each class is in.

We hope that your visit is worthwhile and that after you have visited, First Baptist will become your new church home.
